A very bad day

Today my chicken shed caught fire and wiped out half my flock. It went up like a tinder box and was horrifying. I thought they were all dead for sure but then found one alive under the porch, then two more, then another later in the day. Somehow the meanest rooster and a few others survived. I’m monitoring them inside my place in a pen. It’s absolutely gut wrenching. I don’t have a shelter for them so they will be inside until I can figure something out. Please say a prayer for me and the flock. My heart hurts 💔💔💔💔
Sorry for your loss!

I'm so sorry to read this yes it's very devastating. My chickens were slaughtered by a critter and it still hurts they were so perfect. That was August and will get more in April. Don't give up..you know they are worth getting more!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. 😔💔
Sending prayers your way.

I'm so very sorry that happened. I'm glad you found some survivers that managed to escape. I use heated waterers, lightning on timers, and have baby monitors in each of my 3 coops with everything on surge protectors. The possibility of a fire is always on my mind. I can feel the pain of your loss, my loss wasn't from fire, I lost 1/3 of my oldest hens a week before Christmas 2022 due to a racoon attack. It was devastating, my oldest was just 3 months shy of being 6 yrs old. I just lost a hen a few days ago, then the next day a Runner drake and now I'm loosing my Silkie rooster - for some reason I always lose them in groups of 3.

I hope your feathered babies continue to heal from the trauma they've been through.

I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I would be devastated just like you if this were to happen. I am sure all of us would be.
