EXACTLY! They dont!! LOL A few of my friends who also raise Silkies often pluck or trim the crests so that they can see when in a breeding pen...

What fancy ladies you have....was there a roo? What sets him apart from the others? I don't know anything about the silkies.....with the exception that they are very pretty!

The first picture was my lavender rooster. The second picture was my lavender cockeral (still very much a juvenile.)

And the third or fourth picture, as well as the very last was my white rooster.

Oh, there was a buff roster towards the end also.
