Not sure if this goes in this topic or not, If not sorry. We got some baby chicks now about 6 weeks old, doing good. Wife wants to move them out to the coop today. Question, how long should they be left in the coop before allowing them into the run. Thank you

That's up to you. I had mine in the coop for a few weeks but mainly because I brooded them in there. Some dont leave them in the coop at all. You will still most likely have to put them each back in every night until they learn.

They should be allowed full access to the run from the get go. There is no need to keep them confined to the coop. The coop and the run are their "home." You will probably have to go out for several evenings and physically place them in the coop and on the roost at dusk, but they'll soon get the hang of it.

I'm a fan of the coop 'em to home 'em scenario. I'd say 2 to 3 days should do it, but if the coop is roomy enough you can leave them in longer. I think I had my first chicks cooped up for about a week before we let them out. They would return to the coop at night without issue.
