a white bunny showed up in my yard!

Hi. It's me again. I just went to the bunny site to see how easy it is to find info on housing. If you scroll down to the bottom there is a "library" with info about bunnies. the very first thread has GOBS of info on their index including housing. Okay. that's all!

you can litter train buns pretty easily, here is a pic of my dwarf in his litter box...

Buns are easy to take care of. Mine loves the berry flavored yogurt chips. Give them some fresh cut apple branches or birch branches to chew on to keep their teeth worn down (they never stop growing their teeth, and need to gnaw to wear them down).

that is priceless. an "alice" literary reference is perfect for many reasons. when my grandmother passed away 5 yrs ago, my uncle told her to give us a sign that all was well from the "other side". the night b4 her wake, i was awake at 3 am as were my mother and my uncle. they were in florida and i was in ny. we all saw a bright white cresent moon, in the sky. it was like the smile of the cheshire cat, as it disappeared and reappeared behind the clouds. since then the cresent moon has stood for my grandmother for me.
a little over 6 weeks ago my 3 yr old nephew passed away. it has devastated my daughters understandably. i am going to share this with my family. this bunny now has a home forever with me!
sorry to go on but it means alot to me
thank you

I personally think it's safer to keep your new rabbit inside, I speak from experience. A couple that we are good friends with had 3 pet rabbits they kept in a rabbit hutch, inside a chain linked fenced in yard and their dogs were always outside too. Their dogs never bothered the rabbits in several years and then one day they caught some random stray dogs in their yard, they had somehow jumped the fence...got through their dogs and tore the cage apart to kill one of the rabbit. So they took more precautions, made sure to strengthen the cage and sure enough, they found the other two rabbits dead not long after. If you want to run the risk of having your rabbit killed by a prediator, then keep it outside...but I would HIGHLY suggest not to...it's just to tempting to other animals.

We have a pet rabbit that is 14 years old. We've had him since he was a baby. He is kept in my parents' laundry room in a bunny cage. He is litter box trained and eats rabbit pellets, apples, alfalfa and occasional treats my mom gives to him. She used to also give him bunny chew blocks that he really enjoys. And a water bottle that always must remain full...from our experience, our rabbit did drink a lot of water. We have a halter and leash for him and they take him outside to "explore" often (well, not as often as they used to since he's gotten older now) He's very content and seems happy. My mom also clips his nails (I dont know how often) and brushes him. She'll let him out in a bedroom occasionally to hop around too.

Go to any petco or petsmart store...they will have everything you will need to get started...food, cage, etc, etc. I would again just like to put in my 2 cents and say I would REALLY recommend NOT keeping your rabbit outside out of safety reasons for it...but it's ultimately your decision! Have fun with your new pet

My brother had an indoor bunny for a long time and it was litter trained too. I'd love to have one but can't due to the dogs. They make great little house pets. There's another web site called House Bunnies or something like that; you'll get more information than you can absorb!

I'm glad your keeping her; she wouldn't have survived in the wild

You should not feed rabbits alfalfa. It is too hard on their system. Feed them unlimited amounts of timmothy hay instead.
