Yesterday I noticed some dark blobs on the damn of our pond and I thought they were turkeys...... turns out it was a flock of wild peafowl, 8-9 probably. There is a mother hen and 7-8 young adult children. How should I go about catching them?? I went down to investigate and they flew into the trees, how can I attract them and catch them? Could you use a large but basic step on the plate trap door closes trap? We are pretty sure some dummy released them into the woods because he did not want them. Very very skidish bird. Any help is very appreciated.

Could you build a temporary pen with T-posts & chicken mesh & maybe camouflage netting & put a lot of good food & treats to lure them in? Then try to catch them with a long handled net? They might get hurt though flying around.
Or maybe lure them into a horse trailer?
Sorry...it doesn't sound like something that will be easy to do. Good luck!

Thank you for replying, I am not sure if I could do that because they are living in the back of my 5 acres and it is kind of wooded and rocky.....Hmmmmm I’ll see what happens today or if they are even there still🤷🏼‍♀️
