"I agree with Thunder. " she said reluctantly. "Taking revenge into our own claws will only deepen the stain." I can't believe I'm saying this.. "the only one who can be rid of him is the leader of snapping river tribe." "but we have to help them! We must set them free! So this tyrant can be cleansed from this earth with just waters. Not with more blood." She whipped around to stand in front of the other cats. "I want him dead more than any of you! But if we follow the thunderers, then we must follow the code!"Mongoose listened to the heated debate. she could feel own voice crying out for justice along with the others, and yet.. she looked back at dart, who had rejoined the group. the ivory tusk in his jaws gleamed in the light. ..are we the claws of Justice? are we any better than them? Mongoose shuddered. Is this how Cobra felt? justified in taking the life of others? he wants it for himself. she thought sharply. but... am I really doing this for my Tribe? Or.. or..is this for me. she didn't want to think it anymore. but there it was, unavoidable as the sun.
"we can't." she heard herself say.
(Thorn left by then anyway.)Stickybeak's conscience pricked her as she ran away from Thorn. The truth was that she was dying for companionship; even willing to join the tribe that she had glimpsed now and then on her travels. But things in her past had torn away the naive trustfulness of her childish nature. She trusted no one, and she had no friends. And that's the way it was. She lifted her head, and strode on, albeit unknowingly, into the exact direction of the Thunderers tribe.
(I'm soooo sorry I haven't posted for ages guys! I left poor Thorn just standing there.*Hangs head in repentance* I may not be able to post as often as you guys do, but I'll do my best.)
