Well I guess breeding season is in full swing. All my females are laying now! Hubby went out after seeing the females each taking turns going in and out of an A frame they have to lay in. So he went in and there were 18 eggs inside. He brought 15 in the house and left 3 in the A frame. No one was sitting on the nest and seeing that our temps are going down to zero tomorrow night I'm going to have him bring them in if no one sits on them.

I won't set the smaller ones. The larger ones are sitting out getting to room temperature.

Good for you Tennessee!

Can you do a size comparison photo; like put a tennis ball by one. Already I can't wait to see pics of your little ones when they hatch. Your pics are always good. : ) ..as are your updates.

Well, I decided to candle the eggs today. I set the eggs on 1/12 so today is Day 6. I set 15 eggs, 3 eggs were too small to set but those 3 eggs were fertile.

I was shocked by the results! 14 out of 15 of the eggs are fertile. So that means that 17 out of 18 eggs were fertile. That's amazing fertility rates! Now I just keep my fingers cross that we have a great hatch rate as well!

Woohoo!!
