So this morning I wake up to my neighbors Great Dane eating one of my beautiful cochins!! I have had a problem with these people since they moved in.They seem to think is ok to let their huge dogs roam the neighborhood. I have called the animal control people 100s of times and nothing has been done.I cant do anything about this darn dog and I am gonna

You can, perhaps, hold the dog, call the neighbors, and ask for restitution? You can, perhaps, take the dog to the local humane society yourself the next time you find it in your yard?

Here in CA (believe it or not) the laws allow you to shoot (to kill, is what my local sheriff told me) animals, including pet dogs, who threaten livestock. Even if they're only at your fence just frightening your animals. That would be because some livestock can be killed just by being frightened such as sheep or rabbits. I would expect most states have such a law on the books. Regardless of the law I'd still shoot the animal if it actually killed one of my livestock. You've got too much invested in your animals. If you have written complaints to the animal control (you should) and even photos of the dog on your property, you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck
