Abandoned chickens

Yes, they are a valuable breed and most likely are being looked for by some very upset owners. Beware they are not just your run of the mill chickens somebody got tired of.
Good luck.
Welcome and enjoy!
Steve.

I did put up a post at the local feed store, just in case they are truly runaways.

I'm thinking that they will eventually find their way to their original home.

I do have them penned on their own, and I did put up a post at the local feed store.

By the way... new member introduction. I live in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. I've had chickens on-and-off since the late 70's (not including the time I lived on a boat), and had them growing up as a kid in Massachusetts. I bought 5 acres a couple of years ago, and have since planted a small food forest and raised a small flock of leghorns. I'm in the process of building homes for quail and rabbits as well. Anyone around Key Peninsula, I'd like to converse!

Hello :frow and Welcome to BYC! Strange breed for somebody to just abandon, will be interested to see if you do find out the story behind them.
