Abandoned duck

A friend of mine found a baby duck in their back garden so she brought it round to my house as she knew I have ducks , I think it's a mallard

I also just found one, I don't have ducks but I'm raising chicks at the moment. Can I put the duckling with the chicks?

I need to know if it is a mallard can we keep it or is it illegal in the uk

Yes you can. I started with 2 ducklings and about 19 chicks and are doing just fine. They are now about 10 weeks old, they do just fine.
