They never stop being in danger of predators, they only get better at evading them. I think predators should be patient, an older duck is more meat than a baby. But predators are STUPID and eat CUTE BABIES

I agree. Why have an appetizer when you could have a whole meal?

There's wood storks that come around and sit close by ducklings and don't even try to get at them. The mama ducks will lower their heads and sometimes even charge at them, but they seem to have no interest in eating the babies. I'm not sure if they're predators though, but they sure have the long beaks to snatch one up if they wanted to.
