My neighbors had a goose living in their pond. It just showed up one day and wouldn't leave. Didn't seem to know how to fly and was very friendly to them, eating out of their hands.

Unfortunately it was driving their dog nuts so I was tasked with dealing with it. 45 mins later and thanks to my wonderful bird dog I now have it in a kennel in my yard. It appears tame, let's me pet it.

Question is should I just isolate him for a few weeks then just work into my ducks/chickens? I don't know if he would make it in the wild if I took it to a new wilderness area. Or I could have roast goose?

Not MN DNR... their answer this time of year is "its goose season, deal with it how you choose". I've put in my chicken food mixed with scratch, appears to be eating it.

Sounds like someone had this goose as a pet them released it. Might have pinioned wings is the reason it can't fly. I hope you keep it. I am not opposed to eating goose if that is what you want but a tame Canada deserves better. It is beautiful too. Keep it separated for a few weeks to observe. But water fowl in general are hardy and don't carry disease like chickens can. If you can house it where all can see each other but not too close.
