Abandoned Rooster-Free to Good Home-CT/MA

No, he's not loud at all. His crow is sort of deep, and I've only heard him a few times in the day and a half I've had him.

He is super sweet (have I mentioned that yet?). I can pick him right up and he just sits in my arms.

Edited to add: MassChix, if you take him and he doesn't work out for you, I will take him back

My husband absolutely loved the photo of him and would like to get him. However, we are not prepared to have him just yet....my DH wants to make a seperate run for him. We can't have him walking around freely as my next door neighbor (whom I don't care for) would shoot him if he crossed to his yard. So I suppose at this time, we'll have to say no

. Maybe once we have everything all set, and if you still have him, we could, but we can't at this time. Sorry!

I feel so bad for the poor guy. He is so beautiful and if i lived closer i would take him in a heart beat. I didn't want a rooster yet but if i could get one like him he would be mine. SIGH could he fly here? LOL well thought i would try. Please find him a good home.

Thats so sad that someone would just dump the bird in your yard like that. Your wonderful to take him in and find him a new home. He is so nice looking. Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Masschix, when everything is set up, feel free to email me to see if I still have him ([email protected])

He's settled into the Roo Pen nicely. A few minutes of deciding the pecking order and everyone seems to be getting along. I'd still like to re-home him though if possible. I really don't need another one!

Being that this is my first time raising chickens.....can I put this wonderful rooster in with my new birds (currently about 4 weeks old)? Or should we keep him seperated? We spoke to our neighbor across the street and she wants us to take him....she misses the sounds of the farm she used to have. We are making some headway with the coop and run - finally.

It's hard to find colors like that on a bird.

I would take him if he can fly to Nevada.

He's pretty docile as roosters go. 4 weeks is tiny though, I'd probably keep him seperate until the little ones got a bit bigger.

If you haven't found a home for him yet you can always freecycle him. Just go to freecycle.org to find a group in your area. I've re-homed many a chicken through freecycle. People snap them up almost as fast as you can post an ad.
