I've had some ex battery hens for 3 weeks and they've pretty much laid since day 1. yesterday one of the eggs looked like it didn't have any yolk in it. i held it up to the light and it looked like it was fiull of water, you could see it swishing around. When i cracked it the yolk was there and it looked fine but the white was thickin around the yolk but the rest was very watery. 2 questions, any ideas why this is - are they lacking in something? and is it ok to eat (but to be honest I didn't fancy it!) I have noticed that the whites are very soft when you boil them from this particular hen.
