I'm going to show you two pictures of 2 different chicken eggs at day 3, D and E. I have 5 eggs incubating right now and all but E look the same. I candled my batch from last year but still never noticed anything like E is showing. My worry is contamination. Is this anything to worry about?

These are the candling pictures for the last 3 days. They look identical. I just don't want to remove it unless I know for sure that I won't be jumping the gun.

I agree. That's why I never thought it was an embryo but day 3 is the first time I saw it. I just don't know what to do. Leave it there just in case it's not contaminated or take it out since there's a good chance it's contaminated and might explode. I'd feel horrible if it was fine and I killed it because I panicked. I am definitely no expert on this. I have a lot to learn and I admit that.

I imagine you would be safe to leave it in a little longer, I'd hate to toss an egg so early on. Unless you notice any bad smell, I would give it a little longer.
I'm not an expert either and have only incubated quail and duck eggs, just dropping my thoughts

just to add, I have seen eggs look similar to this on day 3, quail eggs, which had quit. But I left them in for a little longer to be safe, and none exploded.

Thank you very much. That's what I wanted to hear. I have no problem waiting as long as there's still no danger to the others. Hopefully something will come of it after all.

I believe this egg is a dud after all. I was candling it today and the yoke seemed smaller and would quickly float to the top of the egg despite how I positioned it. Also this is the first time the "clot" moved.
