About 13 weeks old light sussex, pulley or rooster?!

Should have mentioned, that triangle varies, some boys only have the fringe on a normal feather center, but others have a deep 'V'. With pure white feathers it can be very hard to spot except at close range, often you'll notice extra shine before you see the male feathering responsible. However his tail is almost a gender indicator in itself, all Light Sussex males and derivatives of that breed I've ever owned had that sort of tail in juvenile males. Won't be a golden rule, but it's been pretty close to it in my experience.

Yes, it's a boy, he has fringe on feathers hens never get fringe on.

Plus he's got one of those triangle feathers showing on his back:

Can you see the internal triangle shape? That's what I drew in the reference pic.

Best wishes.

Ah, ok thank you ever so much for the help, very interesting!:) I contacted the seller and he has agreed to swap the male for a hen so all is good, will just have to slowly reintroduce the new hen to her sisters ;)

I want to redo this with photographs, but don't have a good camera yet. Got a new one and it's not as advertized, shall we say... Anyway, I sketched it, but hopefully it helps.

Brilliant. Thanks. I've been told on another forum on here that 2 of my females are actually males. Looking at your sketches (lovely workmanship btw), I think I can see the difference with my hen. I'm a first time chicken keeper and have only had them for 7 weeks so I find it a little difficult to sex them. They are now 15 weeks old, Light Sussex, and i'm beginning to see differences. Thanks again and I hope you don't mind me saving this pic to my computer? x
