About banty babies.....

I have a little flock of banties, hens and roos. What happens when the different breeds interbreed? Will I get a Silkie cochin or a Mille de Fleur colored Silkie?

Do they look like mutts or take after one parent or the other?

All banties. Cochins, Silkies, Mille de Fleurs, Sebrights, Japanese White Blacktail...................

they should be ok. you would just get some mutts. but nothing i would be worried about

Well, you just never know about that. I guess if you're into genetics you might could make some educated guesses based on dominant traits, but otherwise its a potluck. I have a Btw jap that (unbelievably) was bred by a big cuckoo maran. What I have looks like a cuckoo maran, and is already twice as big as the BTW chicks. Sometimes they come out neat, and sometimes they're just a nondescript.... um.....mutt.
