If they're not dead, then I doubt they will poison themselves eating it. I would just switch to a different bedding as soon as you run out of that (if it was too poisonous, stores wouldn't be allowed to sell it. As is, it's like the cheap parakeet toys that birds can get their tongues stuck in. Usually, it won't harm them. Sometimes, it does.)

Cedar has natural poisons in it; it's to protect the wood from insects. Some all-natural things just aren't good for animals. (Cyanide, for instance.)
