? about DE

I've looked at the website on purchasing DE http://www.earthworkshealth.com/pets-animals.php and it recommends you use 5% in the feed. How do you measure this? I have a 3 lb. feeder and usually fill it almost full when it goes empty.

Any suggestions?

I havent done any hatching yet so you might want to wait for someone else to answer. What I have read is that some or maybe even most wait until they are out of the brooder.
