? about feed

I was wondering what is the best thing to feed my silkies and guineas ia m currently feeding them laying pellets and cracked corn and im giving them alittle over a pint of it mixed a day i only have 4 silkies and 2 guineas and at first they was eating it all but now they aren't am i doing something wrong or what i have only had them about 2 weeks and i got them from a owner that didnt take care of them at all when i first got them they ate everything and anything in sight so i assumed they was starved i can tell they have put on weight but now it has me worried with why they have cut down and if what im feeding them are the right things please let me know

the age of the birds are unknown i was told they was laying when i got them but i have yet to see an egg so who knows i would say a year or younger though and t is a pint of mixed feed which is the laying pellets and cracked corn mixed together it may be more than a pint i use a regular can that you would get veggies from out of the store and i give them 3 of them so im not real sure what that might equal to i was just guessing when i said a pint

i own 4 silkie and they can be a bit fussy. I feed mine scatch at the moment. I give them treats a couple of times a week mealworms, grapes,sunflower seeds and banana. Just make sure they are getting grit in their diet though before giving these. pellets are mixed in the scatch so they are getting a bit of everything

i just checked on them about an hour ago and all the feed was gone who knows what they are doing but i still have no egg

How much corn are you mixing in? You shouldn't mix too much. Definitely not half and half. I wouldn't even mix it at all. Give them a feeder of layer feed that will not run out since they should have unlimited access to feed. Then give them some corn daily as a treat. Also make sure they have grit available if they are getting corn or any other treats. I actually prefer sunflower seeds over corn and other grains. I have a large feeder always full of layer feed for my flock. Then every day I throw a scoop of sunflower seeds in the yard and during the winter I also put a scoop of sunflower seeds on the mat their feeder sits on. Then I put a scoop of oyster shell and a scoop of grit down.
