Phaedra Geiermann
Crowing
One of our girls became very broody from May, and we decided to bring her some fertilized eggs. She is very hardworking and never willing to leave the eggs. So we have to bring her out twice a day for a short rest. Usually she will eat and drink a bit, take a quick sandbath and go back in 3~5 minutues.
Yesterday we cleaned the coop (Day 15) and I forgot to open the door, so the eggs are in the small chamber for about 12 hours. The temperature at night was about 12~15 degree C but the coop itself is made by plastic so in the small chamber it wasn't too cold (as all doors are closed) I tried to find some experiences sharing and some mentioned that the eggs might enter a dormant state and just need a bit longer time for hatching. However, what I read are most about using the incubators. Did anyone have the similar experiences, I felt so bad realizing what i have done last evening...
Thanks for any advices.
