(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have been around chickens for several years but never raised them myself...I started raising Black Australorps about 6 months ago and i am amazed at how they mature so quickly they have started to lay now and i am averaging about 6-9 eggs a day
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 11 hens and 2 roosters right now and plan to start hatching in the spring
(3) What breeds do you have?
Black Australorps
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
they are very interesting to watch and take care of they all have different personalities and continue to amaze me lol
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to fishing, kayaking, and started raising rabbits also
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am widowed and have 3 grown kids and 6 grand kids, i have 2 cats and also a Pit bull, I work from home in tech support and just greatly enjoy raising the chickens from the egg forward.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
was searching online for places to purchase live chicks and BYC came up in the search list and so i went to the website and decided to join today
