I was thinking about importing a roo & doing a breeding program but like with my dog, I can't be 100% sure that the offspring will be treated the way I treat my animals so the chickens & dog are just cherished pets.

*not to hijack your thread, but I love calves. To me calf breathe is super! Have worked off and on in the Dairy industry - last dairy job was at Carnation Farms and I raised calves.

Thanks everyone, they are spoiled rotten & cherished more than anything else. They love their mealworm farm but don't like peanut butter chips(most chickens do)

The calves are great but sometimes make me

but they are worth it when I am not an inch away from wringing their darling little necks (yeah, I had one of those days today)

They both went broody yesterday so I guess I'll have a few months without eggs but I don't eat many so I don't mind.
