I have chicks due to hatch today and this is my first time. After leaving them to prepare themselves for the hatch, the incubator got bumped and the eggs rolled around. What can I do if anything and will they hatch properly?

I've bumped my incubator already and it didn't seem to affect the hatch. As long as the eggs didn't crack or anything, they should be just fine. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well for you and your peeps.

Wait 'till you get a live chick in there and see what they do to the eggs! You'll cringe.

Yep, no worries about your little mishap. The early hatchers will be playing egg soccer with their slower hatch mates in no time at all.

I like to hatch in egg cartons to minimize the carnage. People hatch with the eggs just laying on the wire all the time, but it stresses me out to see them all getting rolled around like that so I put rubber shelf liner over the wire (good footing for the little chicks) and the eggs go in cut down cartons so they don't get rolled around so much.

Same thing happened with my 1st hatch and I was worried too. Then the 1st chick hatched and went nuts kicking and climbing all over the other eggs and I realized that my little bump was nothing compared to that...they all turned out OK.
