about to start new coop

hey guys...i have a pail of clear deck water proofing sealant...was going to use it at least on the floor of my new coop. Is it going to be ok once it dries for the chickens? Can I put it all over the ouside of the coop and then still paint over the top of it?

thanks for the help...pics are on the way i promise!

I bult a simple coop , see NWCoop, I use Behr deck stain to finsih it and it has held up to a month of oregon storms. Its just at three sided box, with a dog xpen wired to the ground on one side.
I am no expert, but did fine , I like the mesh front, so I can see them.

wicked!

So I basically finished the coop today with my son. We put the shingle roof on, made the ramp, put a tarp over part of the run for shade and shelter from the rain, oh and me and the boy totally FOX PROOFED THE PLACE!

At least i hope so...

I made the coop out of fencing mesh ( my 100lb dog couldnt break out so i figure a fox wont be able to break in); We buried sheet metal 6-8 inches deep all around the edge of the coop on all 4 sides. I also buried extra lengths of fence mesh laying flat on the ground around the coop outside the sheet metal...those lil buggars are going to have to work for it to dig into my coop!

Also...I put 2 different latches on each of the 3 doors into the coop ) the babies are locked in for the night tonight) so any fox/raccoon that gets in has earned his/her meal!

I also put additional stretchy bungy cords around the door to the run so that noone not even my 6 yr old can open the door MUWAAAHHAHAHAHHAHHAAHA ( evil laugh)

Any thouhts about guided laser fox assassination devices?
