Abscess on beak

Has anyone had a hen with a black growth on their beak? My vet thinks it’s an abscess or blood blister. Prescribed antibiotics and may decide to dig it out a bit.

What does the inside of the beak look like?
Is there a bad odor?
What antibiotic was prescribed?

Wow it really does look like that other thread thank you! The inside of her mouth on that side looks dark like the outside but otherwise normal. It’s hard to get a good look because she won’t hold still with beak open.

1ml SMZ twice daily which I’ve been pretty successful administering wiring berries.
