One of my brown leghorns showed up at the gate with this… I don’t even know what it is?

What is the substance coming out of her eye, blood or gunk? It looks like she might have been pecked around her eye, causing the swelling. This is also common with a respiratory disease, if you have seen watery/bubbly eye with or without congestion or sneezing. Can you try to open her eye, have a look, and irrigate it with some saline or eye wash? Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin can be applied to the eye twice a day after irrigating it. Is she gasping or breathing hard?
