My 8 year old is heartbroken and said she was his favorite chick. We buried her in our garden and he is making a cross for her.
Just a quick question was she raised by a broody/incubator, or by a hatchery? And how old where the older chickens?
Thats horrible im sorry you lost herI am so sad! We just lost a 2 day old blue cuckoo maran! She was our tiniest chick. Sadly my week old chicks crushed her and I had to break her neck to put her out of her misery.
Was there not a better way to put her down? Could she have been saved? I dont think chicks should be killed until there is no possible way to save them. I have eggs in the incubator right now so I hope they all hatch out healthyHatchery. She was perfectly healthy and happy. Older chicks were 8 days old. She was stepped on in front of the feeder. It didnāt look like bullying or anything just a complete accident.Im so sorry.

She couldnāt breathe I found her with two chicks on top of her and her neck was already damaged.Thats horrible im sorry you lost her

When my eggs hatch should I separate the tiny Serama chicks from the bigger breeds?If they all hatch together I donāt think it would be an issue. I think this was caused by differences in energy level. The week olds are just crazy fluff balls full of energy.Oh
