OK crazy story then a question.... I have a very small AC chick who we put into a bird cage and got it all set up for her because we don't want her out yet because she is so small.... We have her sitting close to our Cockatiels so she can have company. Well they sit and chirp at each other or the chick just sits on her bed area I made her on a small shelf so she can sleep. My cockatiels will sit on their ladder and watch her. They don't seem to mind... OK now here is my question. The AC Chick is now trying to imitate the cockitiels such as climb on cage walls and such other things I have never seen her do. So is it normal that A chick imatate anouther bird? I mean I know eventually my teils will imatate the chick but has chicks ever been known to imatate others.

It would be better to have her out with the chickens, separated if absolutely necessary, but right there, so she learns 'chicken', and the flock accepts her. One bird is the most difficult to introduce! Mary

She is way to small to be outside. She has other chicks with her, 3 baby hatches with her and has had older ones that leave my house tomorrow. She is way to petite to go out at 4 weeks she just comes over the one week old hatches. But all other chickens are leaving here because they where just ones I incubated for others. I just wondered if they have been known to imatate other birds...

She might be climbing the side of the cage in an attempt to prevent being bullied by the larger chicks.
