I have a few AC mixes and one pure hen below is the mom to the hen below her.

the rooster, top is 1/2 AC and my 1/2 AC and BCM mix just started laying.(below) This hen has raised babies, and she is more into hatching other hen's eggs than laying eggs, so since she has started to lay, I am going to collect some of her eggs and hatch them while I have the chance. Her eggs are smallish like an AC but lightly darker like a BCM.

AC for me doesn't seem to big egg producers, but I enjoy their beauty. And I want to create what is mine and what i hatched. I am going to collect until the 10th or so and get some for a Halloween hatch. And since the chicken is black-on black what better chicks for Halloween. (Don't worry they will still be safe.) I will get a pic of the clutch. There may be other breeds mixed, but all with the AC mix dad.

The bottom 10 are from my chickens. I have a AC mix rooster on my hens. The top doz are from a farm 1 mile from my house, but I got them at the healthfood store near me. Hers were not fertile the last time I tried, but I wanted to fluff my numbers and hopefully they are fertile. I did mark them so they will not get mixed up -1 green egg that I didn't like before setting.) .

The center eggs with the shine to them lower tray, AC mix from the rooster and the hen is AC/BCM.( I actually have 3 one is not shown) are what I am trying to hatch. All the other eggs are on for the ride.

Big white egg is a spitz (she may not have been bred so the egg could be infertile) The other white egg is blue andelusian, BCM of course mixed with AC rooster. Then I have 2 Sapphire gems, and an LO. Chicks were going to be halloween babies all black.

Upper tray when she had roosters they were EE and the others are just barnyard mixes.

I just realized my olive egger, and only barred redhead rooster, Oliver, only 5 months old and has been breeding too, so these may be some of his babies...(not the white one.) The black is coming in barred

and below is a ginger headed chick.

I candled the eggs that were in for a day, at least some of the health food store eggs were fertile...I took pics of the obvious ones...I am keeping them all in of course...
one is a double yolk-er, I don't know if it is fertile, but since some other eggs are

I know they don't normally hatch, but it will go in with the others. It is pourous normally not, but maybe that is a good thing...

This is the green health food store egg

I don't advise candling before day 7 for new bee's but if you have hatched out for a while and know what to look for the green egg is a good example of a day 1, a day 2 the spot would just be bigger, then it doesn't get exciting again until day 5-7.

And a shiney middle egg of mine...
