'Bout the age mine was when her dad was raising rabbits for meat,
I think that's when she went vegetarian. But she's 37 now and just helped me slaughter cockerels.

This is why I want my Milk Drinker (He's 2) to help when he is old enough. I'm sure he'll enjoy helping to pull feathers and such in a year or two.

Here they are growing up! Everyone still think Cornish cross? They are super hesitant to fly out of the coop using the ladder so I’ve been carrying them down. Any reason why one has a rose colored comb versus the other?

Yes, this was my gut thought without any knowledge. So exactly when will Mega Mike start making noise like a rooster? And when do I need to seperste him from the others to avoid having chickens?

Well some started at six weeks and I have some that are sixteen weeks and aren't crowing yet, but are chasing their sisters... It takes over 24 hrs of a hen sitting before an egg starts to develop, and unless you know what to look for it's hard to tell in the pan that it's developing. I pick up every day and store eggs below 80 f and they keep for a couple of months... I sell the newest but this time of year I have extras I keep as back up for me. I don't sell old eggs.

That is one reason chickens are easier to keep than mammals unless a broody hen runs off and secretes a clutch somewhere, you aren't getting babies out of the blue.
