I try to be very dilligent about what my roo eats/drinks. I worried myself sick about him eating birdfood, but today I have a new problem. I always keep clean water available- he shares with the dog

But today I noticed him hanging out by the tree. I went over and during one of the storms this week, a cat dish had blown over there and filled up with water. And, of course, with the weather being so blasted hot, the algae had flourished! And here's the worst part- HE WAS DRINKING IT!!! When he had cool, clear water available less than 30 yards away!

What can I do? What s/s of sickness should I watch for? What illness do they conrtact from this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

hopefully he did not ingest enough of it ... who knows the toxicity (if any) of that particular algae... if he starts showing symptoms post in emergencies. I would put a bit of ACV in the water (needs to be in plastic not metal bowl) and give some live culture yogurt free choice... cant hurt might help.
