accidentally shut my chickens out of coop all day!

At least they weren't smoking and drinking in the liquor store parking lot. That's what ducks do...well, that's what I heard!

Update..... they all went inside as usual just before dark! New problem/concern, one of my chocolate's layed a rubber egg!!! ugh first time ever, so now makes me believe maybe due to being shut out all day??

Your birds should all be fine. If your hen is a new layer rubbery eggs are not uncommon. It takes a while to work the kinks out of the egg production chain. Is she getting layer feed? You also can put out a container of crushed oyster shell. Hens will only take some if they need extra calcium.

Thank goodness - no predators discovered your chickens were stuck outside. I'm sure that won't happen again. We all goof up from time to time.

We had this problem with one of the bantams. We gave them oyster and it hasn't really happened again. For this reason, we have a rather large stock pile. Our birds seem to know just when they need it.
