ACCKK! Pinless peepers

How in the HECK do you get them on and get them to stay on?? I soaked the peeper in hot water. I tried using the pliers and not using the pliers. Both ways were equally challenging since Ruby isn't a real cooperative one in the first place! I got them on her once, but then she flung it off with her foot! grrrr. Any tips or suggestions??
Anyone had similar problem and a solution?

I hope someone answers that knows, as I just ordered some and thought that they would not come off once you put them on. I hope it is not just one more thing that doesn't work as advertised.

From what I understand, they're a very tight fit on the beak. Grab a friend, a towel, and a bird and try, try again.

Do you have the right size?

I have the right size. It seems like I either stretch them too much and she kicks it off with her foot or it's too tight and I can't get it in her nostrils. I'll keep trying. If anyone else has any tips...bring 'em on! My poor Australorps looks terrible from all of Rubys hen pecking. Ruby may end up as ruby noodle soup if she keeps on and I can't get the peepers to work.
