Glad y'all liked the pictures! We never get good snow like this (which undoubtably makes the chickens happy).

Laurel- the netting is deer netting I got at Home Depot. I've also seen it at TSC. It's black plastic with 1/2" holes. It wouldn't deter a determined predator, but it will slow down hawks and such. This was my first experience with ice on the netting. It had all melted by the time I got home tonight, but the netting is still really low. I'll go back and tie it back up this weekend. I don't know if it stretched or if it pulled on the sides. It was too dark and cold to stick around and figure it out. I'm pretty impressed though that it stood up to that ice load. There was A LOT of ice on it!

Great story, CESOrtega! I can totally see you running around and around and around the pool. HA! Silly chickens. (I'm in Murfreesboro too. Well, just southwest of town anyway.)

I figure it's not worth it to make them deal with the snow. We just don't ever get it. This is pretty freaky for us. My good little Southern chickens just don't like to have cold toes!
