ACV is really not a requirement or a wonder drug with chickens, contrary to what you may have read on here. It actually may be irritating to chick's intestines, and I have read that it may interfere with calcium absorbtion in older chickens. If you use it occasionally, it doesn't matter what kind of ACV you use, it's just that the unfiltered unpasteurized contains some probiotics which are good. Chickens need a balanced chicken feed with 16-20% protein depending on age, and scratch will at best only contain 8% protein. Young hens can frequently lay oversized eggs the first year, and it has nothing to do with ACV.
