Adaptor for the Genisis? Do I need to buy this?

I'm planning on ordering the Hovabator Genisis 1588. It says you can get the automotive adapter for I think $10. Do I need to get this to plug it in? I don't want to order it and not be able to run it. If I don't need it what do people get it for?

I believe it is for running the incubator through the cigarette lighter in your vehicle if you have a power outage (it's a 12V adaptor).

ETA It is probably worth buying if you're already having something shipped. My Genesis does worst of all when the power goes out, it loses heat quickly.

You only need it if you plan to trave with your bator, it plugs into your cigarette lighter to give your incubator power. I had to take mine with me once, I just bought a converter at walmart.

Cara is correct. I would have a heck of a time getting a full bator with eggs in the turner down an exterior flight of steps to my car if the power went out, though, LOL.

That's why I prefer broody hens! They just never want to sit on 42 eggs, if you can imagine.
