If you're ever able to see a young rooster grow up in a flock with an older rooster, that gives great insight into chicken dominance also! I never really had a problem with aggressive roosters, but watching my older rooster has helped me advise folks how to deal with their roosters. My attitude has just been automatic for me, but watching the older rooster has helped me put the behaviors into words. Plus, watching an older rooster literally race across the run and body check the younger rooster off a hen he's mating is hilarious!
