Good morning everyone! Was wondering about how everyone deals with the adding of new chicks to older ones. I have 2 three week old Wyandottes, and 3 two week old various breeds. I just got 2 one week old(BO & speckled sussex) The 3 two week olds are fine with the newcomers, but the 3 week old Colombian Wyandotte is a holy terror! She is very brutal pecking hard on their little heads. I had to seperate in the same brooder with a see through divider. This seems fine, but now the little ones want to try and get to the other side! How long before the older one will accept the new ones? Having a blast!

She may never cease to try to pick on them. I'd pull her out rather than the one she's picking on. This has the effect of making her one of the bottom on the pecking order.

Put HER on the other side of the divider for a couple of weeks. Just watch to be sure someone else doesn't step up and become the meanie. I think they'll be OK though.
