Adding 2nd run.. If you can't laugh at yourself? (added predator pics)

OMG this is hilarious. You go girl.

Your method of attaching sides that were not quite aligned looked like the way I would have done it. If it holds together, who cares if it looks unusual. I was in tears laughing.

Updated pictures, please.

just took pics and will upload in a bit.. I was cooking dinner and took a pic before it got too dark out.. OMG.. if I didn't have to resize the gate 3 times!!!!!!!! I thought of moving the chicks in the coop today but I have some peel and stick linoleum squares I want to put down first. . so yet again.. I underestimated the time.. Thought they could be in a locked coop and wait for the run to be done. Neighbor will come by tomorrow night to offer advice on things I can do to stabilize my house of cards! tee hee!

Ok.. will update after I feed kids and shower.. I don't get how i can work so much and have not much to show for it.. I had to dig to get some of the panels 'semi level'.. couldn't get level but needed it a a little more level then the ground was.. I didn't account for any of these stumbling blocks.. LOL.. I continue to have mistake after mistake! Hate to say it will be done tomorrow.. but here's hoping!!!

Pics in a bit.. bear with me.. LOL

I should photo now the growing chicks in the shrinking dog crate! will do that now!

oh.. i asked for my neighbor (a civil engineer no less) to please hold off on the laughter.. as I am extremely new at this.. Oh boy.. I'll see what he says tomorrow.. eeek.. better get back to that grill!!!

Ok.. here's the chicks anxious to get out of this dog crate! poor abused things!

Where I was on the run yesterday.. Love my panals.. but I'm sure any experienced builder would still gasp oh well.. just glad I have all my fingers and didn't nail anything to myself but did have a very close call with the staple gun that i used to hold chicken wire up before nailing in the galvanized staples. shot the gun and could feel the staple fly past my finger!! Yikes!!. LOL.. i"m a mess!

I know I was laughing in the beginning, but you have come a long way. It's really looking wonderful. Especially in the sunset. lol

You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Not many women would even attempt this kind of project.

Congrats!

I am so proud of you hun... you are not a quiter, and in the end it will all work out!

But I wanted to say those chicks are adorable.

They will be very grateful for everything you've done. You are a good chicky mama!

Did I tell you that I am entering my rooster into its first bird show next month.

I'm so excited!!! He's going to be mad at me shortly.... because he's getting a bath and moved into the loan spare coop with the wire at the bottom. He's such a pretty boy though.

Make sure you use treated lumber. If not you could be doing your work all over again next year.
Also Thank You to your husband for serving our country.

Hope not on the lumber.. I'm just using regular studs and painting them with fence/house paint.. I 'think' that's what the other run we used???? if that happens at least I'll have hubby back to help..

Yeah.. the sunset shot was to hide all the flaws.

.. I'll have to show how I connected the two runs.. It didn't really work out how I thought.. I found some scrap wood we had around here and I'm running some of those boards on top to connect the top wire to..and another board that connects the two runs.

I really hope to finish today.. Those poor chicks need to go outside! Nervous to show this to the civil engineer neighbor tonight.. I know he'd probably tell me I need to tear down.. Hope not.. Hope he can offer some advice of what to add for more stability as my kids are still telling me that my run isn't as sturdy as daddy's run! They should just be happy I can get a screw all the way in.

My dad, (retired engineer) is already saying he wants to tear it down and he hasn't even seen pics..
hmm.png

Ok.. better go out there and try and put these door hinges on.. Wonder how many tries that will take me??

Oh Shannon... how cool on your rooster. What type is he?? He must be pretty gentle to let you give him a bath! Yikes! I can't imagine grabbing my BR rooster for a bath..
