Hello, I am getting a 6x12 coop/run combo and need to add on some additional run space. Would something like premier 1 fencing with netting over the top work during the daytime for some extra space, or do I need to do a hardware cloth enclosure? (the coop & run are 1/2 x 1/2 hardware cloth).

I fenced in a large area (1/3 acre) using electrified poultry netting in addition to my coop and run combo. It works great. It's obviously too large for netting over it but there are plantings in the pen that the chickens hide under.

Pics of your coop/run?
Your plan might work for the summer,
but in winter they will need a sturdier space....
...might as well build it now.

Ok thanks. I only live on 1/2 acre so I don’t have a lot of room but do want them to have as much as I can provide :)

This is 12 feet long by 6 feet wide. Mine has 1/2 x 1/2 hardware cloth instead of this wire here. I only live on 1/2 acre in the suburbs so I have limited space here
