How I got my first cockbird, and she proved it when I came to see she picked him right up. I only wanted 6 hens, but he would come with 4 young pullets(one of which turned out to be a male).I have talked to the owner, and according to her, he is a sweetheart.

I learned a lot from Mr. Rooster....and the rogue young cockerel, who was my first slaughter and delicious. Mr. Rooster actually went back to the seller a year or so later, he was too good a boy to eat and her friend had just lost a cockbird.
Oh sorry waxing reminiscent ....is the cockbird and adult(over 1 yr)?
Easiest integration is a 'good' adult cockbird, he'll know those young girls are not ready to mate. Still good to separate at the very first....and good to have a separate enclosure ready in case things get ugly...which can happen with the speed of light if they do happen.
Good Luck!
