Adding a rooster?

I've got a +1 year old flock of 13 hens (9 RIR & 4 mutts) plus a monster RIR rooster. The flock usually divides over the day, with half sticking with the rooster and the other half wandering off on their own (mostly the mutts).

A friend of mine knows someone who needs to get rid of their Araucana rooster. Would it spell disaster if I added it to my flock?

Would I be best off building a separate coop or not taking the 2nd rooster?

They should be good together after they initially reset the pecking order.

It depends on the personality of the roosters. More often then not a new rooster doesn't integrate well with an established rooster.

I think you will have a fight, and it may be terrible.
