Adding chickens to just one hen

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

You've got pretty small quarters to work with here. If this set up were mine, the only thing I can think of would be to get a large wire dog crate and set it up in the run. During the day the new birds will stay in the cage while the original bird is free around them. At night since the coop is so small, Id have another cage set up in my garage for them to sleep in. Then in the morning they would go back out to the run cage. Toward the end of 2 weeks Id remove the original bird and let the new birds explore the coop and run for a bit. Come mixing day they should be fairly comfortable with each other, Id put out a couple food and water stations too. And let them work out the roosting situation. Watch them closely the first few days and weeks to make sure there isn't too much aggression.

Best wishes with this!

see if you can get a used dog crate for the one chicken at night inside the coop. use anything for a separator inside the run during the day don’t know if you have a lot of junk around your yard sheds and garage like I do but generally, I manage to find some thing that will work somehow and I piece it all together with zip ties. I think it’s possible a cardboard box might be OK if it’s sturdy enough and you poke ventilation holes through it and you don’t put her in there till like sunset/ nighttime so she won’t be trying to get out and then you let her out right away in the morning. I was blessed by my neighbors with a few of their old dog crates. They were going to throw out, but I managed to fix them up and I use them whenever I bring a new birds.
