adding chicks to a flock

does anyone have any advise for adding 6 week old chicks to my 19 week old chickens. I put one in there the other day and it was a horrible the 6 week old got roughed up pretty good before i could finally get to him

You can't add the six week olds. They have to be about the same size as the rest of the flock before you put them together. And when the time comes, do it at night

the rule is until they are the same size. I haven't tried yet to add my younger ones to my hens. totally scared to! I have been letting them get to know each other through the chicken wire.
