I added two new Easter eggers to my 6 week old flock of 5 and they are not being very accepting of the new two. Should I separate them a few days or let them figure it out?
I didn’t think at 6 weeks adding more would be an issue. Thanks!
Anything generally added after 1-2 weeks of age will be seen as not belonging. Pen them next to each other for a week and try again with supervised mingling.
Are you adding them to the brooder in the background or to a coop and run? If you're adding them to the brooder I suspect crowding or boredom could be an issue. Toss 'em all outside and they'll be so blown away that they won't even remember that there's new additions.
