Adding cockerel?

My girls are pushing 9 weeks. I found a place that will ship me a Blue Jersey Giant cockerel around the same age. I have a few questions.

1) I'm only getting the one bird. How well do larger single birds do with the shipping process?
2) How/when should I incorporate the cockerel in with the girls?
3) When I am keeping him separate, who much room should he have? Can he be located where he can see the girls or is that not good?

1) I'm only getting the one bird. How well do larger single birds do with the shipping process? As long as its 1 day shipping and it has fruit or something in the box with it, it should be ok. The sipping may stress it out.
I do not know about the other questions since I have never had any experience adding a cockeral or having one. I would think it seeing the hens would be fine, best to get them acquinted as much as you can.
