Adding External Nest Box to The Basic Coop

I bought the plans for The Basic Coop from the Garden Coop (also available on My Pet Chicken). However, I'd like to have an external nest box instead of the nest box inside that the plans call for. The Garden Coop website blog has a tutorial (no plans) of how to add an external nest box to The Garden Coop, but obviously the Basic Coop is a bit different. I was wondering if anyone had ever done this and had any advice (or better yet, plans). It calls for a whole 'nother piece of 4x8 plywood and since I'm already buying 2 for the Basic Coop, I'm wondering if there's any way I could get by with the lumber that was supposed to go to the inside box and maybe a bit more (not a full 4x8 sheet).

I'm terrible at building, but I did want to wish you best of luck on your project! I will provide more room on the inside if you have nest boxes on the outside.

Did you figure it out? I'm now thinking of adding external boxes to an already built coop. =/
