adding extra feed for chicks?

Good Morning!
Just wondered when I can start feeding my
3 wk old chicks goodies-like cottage cheese, lettuce, etc?
And if so, do I need to add grit with soft food like that?
They are growing like crazy and seem ready to get out-but
its still too cold here. If I could think like a chick-I would
say they might even be a bit bored!?

You can go ahead and give them goodies. No need to add grit for soft treats.
