Adding hens

I have an Austra white and he has never been around a hen. I am thinking about getting a couple of leghorn hens and was wondering best way to introduce

He is about a year old and the hens are 6-7months old I believe

Keep separate during quarantine, but allow them to see each other. I block off part of my yard and allow them to communicate and forage together. Then once the quarantine is done I open the gate and I’ve never had an issue

A lot of people say once quarantine is over to put the new hens in the coop at night because there is less likely chance of attack.

The key thing is to start extremely slow. This is a really great blog, it's what I used when I first started adding chickens, and I still use this advice now. Good luck!

I don't think you'll have any problems,even though he's never seen booty he knows he likes it. The hens might want to take a bite or two out of him though.
